Machine Learning

Status: Active

Mission Statement

The Machine Learning team focuses on analyzing data and creating machine learning models for space applications, such as path finding for autonomous rovers, analyzing satellite data, and working with signals. The team explores new machine learning concepts and equips its members with relevant experience in data collection, data cleaning, model construction, and model application.

Project Overview

In late 2024, the team won 1st place in the Texas Space Grant Lunar Search and Rescue competition where we built a multi-agent search algorithm to locate a target in a simulated environment while working around limitations such as power and communication range. The team’s current project is to use a lidar scanner to create a pathing algorithm for the ATHENA rover.

Project Conclusion

Machine Learning (ML) is still in progress
